Trishie Tales #1 by Rob DeWaters
We all know that Tricia was a master of words and how to turn a phrase. During the first week of the pandemic social distancing period (March 2020) we were talking about the parking problem outside my apartment now that everyone was working from home. One car in particular was the object of my ire as it was taking the space of two cars for three days running.
Ordinarily I wouldn’t hesitate to leave a Post-It note on the driver’s window with *maybe* an expletive added to get my point across. However, I was overcome with compassion as we were all held captive by this mysterious virus and supposedly doing the best we can. I started writing a letter with the manners and grace of Queen Elizabeth and far more than the situation required. By the time I was done, I had written half a sheet of paper. Knowing that this was way overboard, I sheepishly handed it to Tricia for a “second opinion.”
Tricia started to read, and after a minute she gets to the end and looks at me incredulously with an eyebrow raised above the frame of her glasses. She then said, “how about this, “social distancing is for people not parking – tighten it up!”
And so it was written…
